Engraving Services
The majority of engraving is done in our workshop. If you need something we can't do in-house then we'll find someone who can.
Our in-house engraving services
-
Flast-bed engraving
Flat-bed engraving is availale for salvers, metal plates and pretty much anything else that is flat. We use diamond-drag for most of our flat bed engraving. The finished engraving can be natural or it can have a black finish.
Note that we use a trusted third-party provider for items larger than A4.
-
Rotary Engraving
Our U-Marq rotary engraving machine is able to take items up 254mm (10”) in diameter, and up to 406mm (16”) in length (depending on item).
It is idea for engraving trophies, tankards and glass (see sand blasting). It is a four axis machine that can engrave on surfaces that curve in two directions (like cups and glasses).
We have the choice of diamond-drag and rotating cutters with this machine.
Don't worry if your item is too big for our machine. We have a trusted engraver who can do the engraving for us.

Sand Blasting
Sand Blasting gives the best finish when dealing with glasware and awards. (We actually use fine grade aluminium oxide powder rather than sand as it gives a much better finish.)
This is ideal for glass awards, decanters, bottles, glasses and mirrors.

Business Process
Our normal business process takes you from initial enquiry through to the delivery of your awards. This process is not relevant if you are buying directly from our on-line store.
1. Initial Discussion
During the initial discussion you can tell us the type of award you are looking for and you can describe what you would like us to engrave. We'll then give you an estimate for the cost of the award and the additional work we need to do. The estimate may cover a selection of items if you have not yet made a final choice.
2. Quote
When you are happy with the estimate we will create a formal quote that includes details of the awards you have ordered and the engraving (or other work) that we will undertake. The quote will also include the agreed delivery date.
3. Artwork and Sign-Off
You can send us the artwork you want us to engrave, or we can create artwork for you. Whether its simple text or intricate designs, we will send a copy of the final artwork for you to review and approve. If you have some queries about the artwork, if you want some changes or if you may have spotted an error then let us know and we will do the necessary updates.
The review and sign-off is very important. Never assume that what we send is correct - make sure you check it. If you do spot something you will be very glad you did (and so will we).
4. Payment
Once you have approved the artwork and accepted the quote we will send you our invoice. Once we have received payment we will begin work on your job.
